The initial testing fee of $25 will still be assessed when collecting your driving credentials. This fee is assessed at the time of testing. The KnowToDrive Nevada written exam charges a $6.75 fee each time the exam is taken. The initial fee covers both written and drive tests for any combination of license classes or endorsements that are paid for at the same time. The DMV charges a Testing Fee of $25 for a first-time knowledge and skills test and $10 for all retests. Skills tests will be canceled if there is no responsible party available to supervise small children. Please do not leave your children unattended while you take a skills test. Most beginning drivers under 18 must present a driver's education Certificate of Completion and a Beginning Driver Experience Log. You do not have to use your own vehicle, but you must have a vehicle in the same license class as you are applying for. Vehicles must be properly registered and insured. The examiner will perform a safety inspection on your vehicle and check your registration and insurance. Please have your instruction permit number or social security number ready when you call or schedule online. Rural offices do not offer stand-by tests. Larger offices also offer tests on a stand-by basis. Skills tests are administered by appointment. You must pass the knowledge test and obtain an instruction permit for a given class of license or endorsement before you schedule your skills test.
